Delete your account
You can remove your account and everything we hold about you, from inside the app. It takes under a minute and needs no contact with us.
In the app, step by step
The interface is in Swedish, so the menu names are given as they appear.
- Open Surayt and tap Profil at the bottom right.
- Tap Inställningar, meaning Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom, to the Session section.
- Tap Radera konto, meaning Delete account, and confirm in the dialog.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. There is no waiting period and no way to restore the account. If you only want to start again from day 1 without losing the account, use Återställ framsteg in the same menu.
What is removed
- The account: name, email address, and the link to Apple or Google
- Your profile: display name, language background, goal and settings
- All progress: day and phase, streak, XP, time in the app
- Completed lessons, segments and exercise scores
- Word knowledge: review levels, review dates, correct and incorrect counts
- Unlocked badges
- Feedback you have sent, as held in our database
- Active sessions, so you are signed out on all devices
Data held locally on your phone is cleared at the same time. To remove the app as well, press and hold the app icon on the home screen and choose to delete it.
What may remain
Two things do not disappear automatically, and you should know about them:
- Feedback already notified. When you send feedback, a notification goes to the project's private Telegram channel. That copy remains until deleted manually. Email us if you want it removed too.
- Analytics and crash reports. Events at PostHog and any crash reports at Sentry are deleted according to the retention periods in the privacy policy. Email us if you want them removed sooner.
If you cannot open the app
If you have lost the phone, changed email address or cannot sign in, email hej@surayt.se from the address the account is registered to and ask us to delete it. We confirm once it is done, within 30 days at the latest and usually the same week.
If you cannot email from the registered address we will need another way to tie the request to the right account, for example details only you would reasonably know. That is to protect your account from being deleted by someone else.
Your other rights
You also have the right to receive a copy of your data, to have it corrected, and to object to certain processing. See the privacy policy.
